Qualifications: Must hold Georgia certificate in Media Specialist (P-12). Middle school experience preferred.
Responsibilities: Develops, administers, and manages programs and facilities for the media center and performs duties and responsibilities specified in the Georgia Media Specialist Evaluation program. Provides building-wide instructional leadership and support to students and faculty, manages resources for guided reading, novel studies, and independent reading and contributes to faculty professional development. Supervises media paraprofessional. Familiar with Common Core literacy standards to assist in grade level teaching practices. Follows professional practices consistent with school and system policies and working with students, colleagues, and administration. Purchasing and organization of media materials, participation with Battle of Books at school and system level, fundraising through book fairs, etc.
Desired Skills: Communication and interpersonal skills necessary. Timeliness and attendance for assigned responsibilities expected.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
